He was predeceased by: the mother of his children Beverly Lewis Stein; his significant other Betty Porter; his brother Jim Stein; and his grandson T. J. Stein. He is survived by: his children, Tom Stein (Rhonda) of West Lafayette, George Stein of Lafayette, Scott Stein (Barbara), Elizabeth Hunter of Pineville and Rebecca Cunningham (Dean) of Rockville; and his sisters, Barbara Burg and Mary Beth Peterson. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
