With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gilbert G. Gates of Kewanna, Indiana, who passed away on February 24, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert W. Gates and Velma Irene Gates (Hershberger); his half-brothers, Robin and Randall Gates; and his sisters, Lois Babb and Shirley Chilcutt.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene J. Wilson; his children, Cindy Early (Michael) of Rochester and James Eric Gates (Marilee) of Kewanna; his grandchildren, Justin Malott (Nancy), Garret Gates, Payton Gates (Kinsey Anderson), Carson Gates and Adriene Early (Tyler Penrod); his great grandchild Damon Malott (Lexa Sprague); his grandchildren, Ethan Malott, Grayson Malott, Addison Malott and Stella Early; his stepchildren, Danny J. Pottenger (Elaine) of Logansport and Glenna Youngblood (Ron) of Peru; his stepgrandchildren, Aaron Youngblood, Brian Early and Abigail Wagler; and his half-sisters, Linda Westhusin and Benita McClean.
