He was predeceased by: his parents, Darrell Shafer and Judy Shafer (Davis). He is survived by: his children, Derek Shafer (Kyrsta) of Rochester and Melissa Kuhn (Todd) of Rochester; his sister Teresa Mollencupp (Ed) of Lake Bruce; his grandchildren, Wesley, Xander, Kaylea, Camden, Jocelynn and Blakely; his niece Samantha Sadler (Kendall); and his nephew Kyle Mollencupp (Angela Shafer) of Culver.
