He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo A. Garing and Marie E. Garing (Bessler); his siblings, Harry, Robert "Bob" Garing and Marilyn Mathew; his siblings-in-law, Tom Sondgerath and Louise Garing; and his son-in-law Paul Di Fabio.
He is survived by: his wife Helen; his children, Michael Garing, Lynne Di Fabio of Lafayette, Lisa Jefvert and Joseph Garing; his siblings, Francis Garing, Richard "Dick" Garing of Santee, SC, Marsha Miiller and Marlene Sondgerath of Kentland; his siblings-in-law, Wayne Mathew and Barbara Garing of Kentland; and his grandchildren, Kimberly, Kristin, Timothy, Andrew, Scott, Megan, Thomas, Brian and Emily.
Memorials may be made to South Newton Elementary or the Covenant Federated Christian Church Food Pantry in Kentland.
