He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Maurer and Ilene Gladys Maurer (Johnson); his children, John Francis, Cynthia and Diane; his daughters-in-law, Jackie Maurer and Diane Maurer; and his brothers, Paul Maurer, Wilbur Maurer, Herman Maurer, Herb Maurer and John Maurer.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Maurer of Kendallville; his children, Barbara (Roger Hakey), Tina (John Shipe), Deborah (Mark Bohler), Dan Maurer (Tim) of Garrett and Deb Maurer of Garrett; and his sisters, Florence (Rich Outwater) and Helen Savage of Bronson, Michigan.. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren.
