He was predeceased by: his parents, Doyle Schmidt and Catherine Schmidt (Buss); and his wife Hope Joyce Sims. He is survived by: his daughters, Becky Hunter (Brian) of South Whitley, Mindy Mayo (Brian) of Camby, Heidi Brown (Josh) of Hebron and Wendy Koors (Dan) of North Manchester; his grandchildren, Blake, Adam, Jason, Derek, Kendra, Ayda, Isaiah, Garrett, Sam, Wyatt, Levi, Aaron and Abby; and his siblings, Judy Wren (Rob) of Fort Wayne and Jim Schmidt (Wanda) of Hudson.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the South Milford Church of Christ (8030 E 600 S, Wolcottville, IN 46795). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
