Ruth Prentice Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 13, 2025, at the age of 93, Ruth Prentice (Kendallville, Indiana) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Albert "Penny" Uhl and Ruby I. Uhl (Myers); her husband Wally Prentice; her daughter Peggy Sue Prentice; her son-in-law Gene Dirr; her sister Edith; her brother-in-law Joe Whonsetler; her brothers, Floyd Uhl and Lloyd; her sister-in-law Donna Uhl; and her brother Paul Uhl.
She is survived by: her daughters, Gloria (Gary McDonald), Kathleen Dirr of Kendallville, Cynthia Prentice (Jeff Stine) and Marsha Gienger of Kendallville; her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Kelley McDonald), Anne Mossman of Rome City, Jason (Colin Gienger-Hindman) and Jordan Gienger (Andrew Fry); her stepgrandchildren, Gary Lynn, Tuyen McDonald, II of Albion and Patrick McDonald of Syracuse; her great grandchildren, Aedyn Mossman, Ahriana Mossman and Jameson McDonald; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Tina McDonald, Christian McDonald, Breanna McDonald and Khloe McDonald; her sister DeLoris Peacock of Kendallville; and her sisters-in-law, Patty Uhl of Nashville and Rosemary Uhl of Godfrey, Illinois..
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (111 W Albion St, Avilla, IN 46710). A burial was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery (County Rd 900 E, Swan Township, IN 46710).
