He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Thompson and Jean Joan Volker (Garver); and his sister Jeri Thompson. He is survived by: his former wife Patricia Maxine McBride; his wife Pat Thompson of Kendallville; his daughters, Robin Ritchie (Aaron Desmonds), Susan (Luke Hughes) and Erin (Anthony Jimenez); and his siblings, Kathy (Denny Donaldson), Kitty (Rich Conkling), Deanna Klein of Hanna City, Illinois. and John (Kay Thompson).
