She was predeceased by: her father Herbert Mertz; and her friend Demaris L. "Dee" Powers. She is survived by: her mother Doris Mertz (Emmons) of Angola; her daughters, Rebecca A. Beaty (Diego) of Interlachen and Emily E. Sprengelmeyer (Quentin) of Galena, Illinois; her grandchildren, Elliott Sprengelmeyer and Isla Sprengelmeyer; and her siblings, Cathie Swartz of Kendallville, Susan Hively (Michael) of Battle Creek, Michigan and Ron Mertz of Angola. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel (222 S State St, Kendallville, IN 46755). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
