He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Oden and Lette Oden (Twibell); his former wife JoAnn Oden; his wife Vonna Carroll-Couch; his son Mark Allen Oden; and his sisters, Naomi Brown, Katherine Ramsey, Mary Etta Barnhart, Lucille Thomas and Thelma Imogene Oden.
He is survived by: his children, Brian Oden of Gas City and Norma Dickey (Ted) of Anderson; his stepchildren, Marla Persinger, George E. Carroll, Jr. (Ramona), Kenneth S. Carroll (Alice) and Jeff L. Carroll (Terrie); his grandchildren, Christina Moore (Charles), Kimberly Teagarden, Lisa Gray, Heather Oden and Jeremy Dickey (Tracy); and his sister Nina Bowland. He is also survived by 3 step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
