He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Sheets and Miriam Sheets (Merriman); and his brothers, David Sheets (Mary) and Philip Sheets. He is survived by: his wife Gail Sheets of Jonesboro; his children, Joyce Phillippe (Jay) of Jonesboro, Debra Martin of Lafayette, Dan Sheets (Tracy) of Wabash and Russell Sheets of Jonesboro; his grandchildren, Jason Phillippe, Alicia Adamson, Heather Stepp (John), Dylan Martin, Danielle Williams (Nathan), Alicyn Sheets and Kathryn Hoover; his great grandchildren, Jasmine Phillippe, Raiden Phillippe, Saber Phillippe, Brandtley Richey, Sophia Adamson, Anna-Marie Adamson, Johnnie Rockwell, Jadyn Stepp, Sawyer Stepp, Garrett Stepp, Jensen Williams, Alivia Strange, Kaylynn Hoover, Isabella Hoover and Charlotte Hoover; his great great grandchild Ophelia McMullen; his siblings, Richard Sheets, Robert Sheets (Mary Jane) of Lake Placid, FL, James Sheets (Thelma) of Sebring, FL, Steve Sheets (Linda) of Jonesboro and Mary Carolyn Jones; and his sister-in-law Anna Sheets of Norco, CA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
