He was predeceased by: his parents, Nezra Cornett and Dorothy Cornett (Combs); and his former wife Bertha McCoy. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Cornett of Jonesboro; his stepmother Ida Cornett of Maces Creek, Kentucky; his daughters, Sherri Hinshaw (Ken) of Marion and Robin Gump (Michael) of Marion; his stepson Craig Newby (Casey) of Gas City; his siblings, David Cornett (Susan) of Kentucky and Gwendal Martin of Kentucky; his stepsisters, Brenda Fields (Gary) and Carolyn Roper (Emmitt) of Kentucky; his sister-in-law Sharlene Cornett of Marion; and his grandchildren, Kala Simmons, Jared Burnett (Sarah), Jason Burnett, Austin Aughinbaugh, Jay Jones, Trey Jones, Madison Gump and Kaiyah Jones. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
