He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Justus and Martha Jane Nelson (Long); his wife Wilma Christine Nelson (Smith); and his siblings, Walter Thomas Nelson, Lee Katherine Jamison, Elliott "Suter" Nelson, Ray Nelson, Clay Nelson, Lewis Nelson, Harold Lee and Little John.
He is survived by: his sisters, Lois Jamison and Ora Lee Jenkins (Dutch); and his adoptive daughter Leslie Ingram.
