He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard "Bluegill" Eckstein and Rose Eckstein (Nolan); and his siblings, Donnie, Bill, Millie Stemle, Susie Egbert, Joan Wolfe and Ruth Keller.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Eckstein (Smith); his children, Jeff Eckstein (Karla), Tom Eckstein, Tim Eckstein (Cindy), Sheryl Hayes and Lori Steinhart; his grandchildren, Aaron Schwartz, Chris Eckstein (Tracy), Ryan Eckstein (Heather Choate), Tyler Eckstein (Ashley), Kassidy and Dylan Steinhart; his great grandchildren, Myles Eckstein, Asher Eckstein and Liam Eckstein; and his sisters, Irma Gudorf and Jean Isom.
