As Richard departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Richard may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Richard leaves behind.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Ray and Berniece Ione Lanier Ray; and his siblings, Beulah Mae Ray Harris, Opal Harris and Leslie Arthur "Les" Ray.

He is survived by: his daughter Terri Wade of Jasper, Indiana; his granddaughter Jessica Lynn Werne (Brock); and his great grandchildren, Cohen and Grier Werne. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre (325 Demaree Dr, Madison, IN 47250). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Richard R. Ray Remembrance Fund.
