He was predeceased by: his parents, Norbert Merkley and Selma Merkley (Renner); and his great-nephew Henry Norbert Merkley. He is survived by: his siblings, Jane Greenwell of Jasper, IN, Allen Merkley (Maureen) of Jasper, IN, David Merkley of Jasper, IN and Karen Altmann (Chester) of Jasper, IN. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church or to the wishes of the family.
