He was predeceased by: his parents, Dow Apple and Agnes Apple (Lorey); his wife Alice Burton; his stepdaughter Vanessa Burton; and his brother-in-law Ray Larkin.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Knebel (Fred), Mary Beckman (Phil), Kevin Apple (Tammy Carpinetti), Scott Apple (Susan), Michelle Kress (Bill), Linda Huebner (Allan) and Staci Smith (Eric); his stepchildren, Robin (Tom), James Burton (Pam) and Sarah Timmons (Robert); and also Nancy Larkin. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers (SAVE THE BEES), memorial contributions may be made to St. Meinrad Seminary, Dubois County Museum, Lange Fuhs Cancer Center, and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
