Francis left this world on February 9, 2025 at the age of 95, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Riffel and Mary Jane Riffel (Beckman); and his wife Joan Herzog of John's Catholic Church. He is survived by: his daughters, Mary Ann Bartley (James) of Jasper, IN, Patricia Joan Riffel of Milwaukee, WI, Kristine Marie Jochim (Kerry) of Jasper, IN, Karen Frances Grewe (Robert) of Jasper, IN and Beth Ann Blackgrave (Jon) of Jasper, IN; his grandchildren, Jenna Davey (Tom), Brandon Jochim and Zachary Grewe; and his stepgrandchildren, Peyton, Kendyl and Trey Blackgrave. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Becher & Kluesner Funeral Home - Downtown (214 E 7th St, Jasper, IN 47546). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St Joseph Catholic Church (1029 Kundeck St, Jasper, IN 47546). A burial was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at the Fairview Cemetery (1020 Kundeck St, Jasper, IN 47546).
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dubois County Right to Life, Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center or to a favorite charity.
