She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Ehrman and Anna Ehrman (Vonderheide); her husband Robert O. "Bob" Mathies; her son Kurt Mathies; her son-in-law James Wendholt; her great grandchild Eli Peyton Mathies; and her sisters, Rose Marie Steltenpohl, Irene Carter, Mildred Fischer and Bonnie Hoffman.
She is survived by: her children, Jeannie Schepers (Lenny) of Jasper, IN, Brenda Stenftenagel (Alan) of Jasper, IN, Diane Henke (Garrett "Beaner") of Jasper, IN, Gary Mathies of Huntingburg, IN, Randy Mathies (Barbara) of Huntingburg, IN, Kevin L. Mathies (Beth) of Huntingburg, IN, Brian Mathies (Kathi) of Jasper, IN and Scott Mathies of Jasper, IN; her daughter-in-law Sandy Seng (John) of Jasper, IN; and her brother-in-law Ray Hoffman. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, four step grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 14 step great grandchildren, three "special" great grandchildren.
