He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Sternberg and Viola Sternberg (Hochgesang); his brother-in-law Jerry Quick; and his godson Dan "Danny" Quick. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Merkel of Jasper, IN; his daughters, Megan Sternberg of Bowling Green, KY and Rachel Sternberg of Indianapolis, IN; and his sisters, Shirley Quick of Tell City, IN, Karen Seger (Glenn) of Bishop, GA and Susan Harpenau of Tell City, IN..
