He was predeceased by: his father Duane L. Dorwart; his grandparents, John, Edith Dorwart, Theodore and Jeanette Mitchell; his niece Bethany; and his nephew Tyler Baker.

He is survived by: his mother Elaine Dorwart; his wife Lori Dorwart; and his daughters, Emily, Shelby and Elizabeth. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Memorials may be made in John's honor to the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department.
