He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Whetsel and Ruth Whetsel (Jarrett); his daughter Angela Whetsel; and his siblings, Jean LeGault, Neal and Richard Whetsel.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Whetsel (Thompson); his son Russell Whetsel (Courtney); his grandchildren, Mark, Colin, Erica Whetsel and Trenten Livingston; and his sisters, Martha Wallace, Joan Ballard and Carolyn Rapp (Phillip).
