He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Harrison and Josephine Edith Staggs (Oliver); his significant other Christine Denise Staggs Bone; and his siblings, Gerald, Alfred, Douglas, Melvin, Frederick Staggs, Melvina Hestand, Helen Killion and Janie Worley.

He is survived by: his children, Juanita J. Marion (David) and Terry Scott Staggs (Heather A.); his grandchildren, Alaynah Staggs-Harris, Haylie Staggs, Shelby Staggs-Marion, Marisah Darling (Mason), Dustin Staggs and David Marion Jr.; his great grandchildren, Adrianna Figures and Kameeyah Terree Grace; and his siblings, Mary Elizabeth Copeland, Judith Gee, Kathy Howell and Kenny Gillian.
