He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Hugh Grant and Isabella Grant of Derry; his wife Evelyn Weir; his children, Geraldine Neita (Mark) and Martin Grant (Lolin); his grandchildren, Lyndsey Neita (Bryce Melton), Taylor Neita, Aidan Grant, Sarah Grant (Yamil Diaz) and Samantha Nagy; his great grandchildren, Delia, Islay and Olivia Melton; and his niece Elizabeth MacLeod (Ian). He was also cherished by in-laws and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
