She was predeceased by: her parents, Nicholas Kolenda and Collette Kolenda of Anderson, IN.; her husband Malcolm Hawkins; her daughter Melanie Johnson; her grandson Zachary Hawkins; her siblings, Edgar, Douglas, Michael Kolenda, Imelda Ann Vores and Julianne Kolenda; and her siblings-in-law, Waldemar Clements, Urbine Vores, William Gwaltney, Kiefer Hawkins, Ishmael Hawkins, Shirley Kolenda, Linda Kolenda, Rosalie Ogle, Lorna Harbaugh, Rowena Dice and Arlene Knight.

She is survived by: her children, Julie Mund (Larry), Kristina Stappas (George), Kevin Hawkins (Jeanne), Brian Hawkins (Lisa) and Andrea Powell (Andy); her son-in-law Jerry Johnson; and her sister Vivian Gwaltney. She is also survived by 14 grand children.
