He is survived by: his wife Gudrun Carlson; his son Kurt Carlson (Margaret); his granddaughter Olivia Carlson; his brother Norman Carlson; and his nieces and nephews, Mark Carlson, David Carlson, Jennifer Kindle (Gene) and Lora Horning. He is also survived by three nephews.
