We are sad to announce that on November 5, 2023, at the age of 93, Joanne S. Johnston (Indianapolis, Indiana), born in Peoria, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Elmer Florian and Anna E. Spitznagel (Kolb); the father of her children Charles H. Bennett; and her husband Donald R. Johnston. She is survived by : her daughters, Mary J. Bennett of Indianapolis, Ariana H. Bennett of Raleigh, N. C., Caroline B. Ammerman (Robert) of Cincinnati, OH and Joanne B. Jeffers (William) of Sarasota, FL.; her brother John K. Spitznagel of Chapel Hill, NC.; and her grandchildren, Anna G. Spitzer (Brett) of Denver, CO, Sarah J. Grain (Tedd) of Indianapolis, John N. Graub (Nimilolu Fafowora) of Indianapolis, Patrick B. Ammerman of Bogota, Colombia, Evan R. Ammerman of Portland, OR, Ann J. Jeffers of New York, NY and Lillian R. Bennett of Raleigh, NC.. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
