He was predeceased by: his parents, Clova Nelson and Edward Nelson; his siblings, Roger Nelson and Patricia Wallace; and his sister-in-law Sandra Wilhite.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Nelson; his siblings, Carl Nelson, Butch Nelson (Sheila) and Gay Thompson (Jack); his children, Ronald Nelson (Kimmie), Rodney Nelson and Lorie Nelson (James); and his grandchildren, Brian Nelson (Kate), Andrew Nelson (Jessica), Meagan Evans (Seth), Lindsay Nelson-Jones (Candace), Lizibeth Anderson, Alex Nelson (Mikah) and Nick Nelson. He is also survived by many great grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bell Mortuary and Crematory (2310 W Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46222).
