He is survived by: his sister Ronette; his wife Sarah Scruggs Harkness; his children, Jerald Harkness (Barbara) and Julie Arnold (David); his grandchildren, Kara Harkness, Kiley Harkness, Anna-Grace Arnold and Ashlyn Arnold; his aunts, Margaret Tiggs and Christine Harkness; his siblings-in-law, Willie Scruggs, Ozie Scruggs (Mary), Clardine Robertson, Charity Booker and Yolanda Woods (Larry); and his friends, Elbert Shamsid Deen (Darlene), Jack Egan (Mary), Ron Miller (Patty), Rich Rochelle (Carolyn), Oliver Darden (Linda) and Loyola University of Chicago. He is also survived by the second child of three siblings.
