He was predeceased by: his mother Rowena Currin Wells; and his brother Joseph Wells III. He is survived by: his father Joseph Wells; his children, James P. Wells, Vivica Rogers (Mark), Jada Wells, Payton Wells (Nicole), Jasman Wells (Brandi) and Vivian Wells; and his siblings, Lola Held Sue Barnett (Lou), Robert Wells and Carl Wells (Rosa). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
