He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward and Ruth Mae Herald (Clark); and his sister Sharon White (Larry E. Morton Jr.). He is survived by: his wife June Herald; his children, Kellie Herald, James Donald Herald Jr., Teresa McCalister (Rob) and Vincent L. Morton; his siblings, Jerry (Linda), Bob (Judy), JoAnn (Garland), Danny (Kathy), MaryLou (Jack), David, Larry (Kathy), Carolyn (Glen), Sandra, Rebecca and Ricky; and his grandchildren, LeeAnn (Josh), Samantha (Neil), R. J., Corey (Myranda) and Dillon (Emily). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory (1484 US-40, Greenfield, IN 46140). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
