He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Thomas Carpenter and Marjorie Janett Carpenter (Holland); and his siblings, Melvin Thomas Carpenter Jr., Linda Chastain Carpenter and Mildred Carpenter (Millie).
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Gay Carpenter (Holt); his children, Neeli Rae Hagans (Tim), Sarah Jessica Carpenter (Kenny), Hayley Starr Carpenter Arney (Cody), David Weaver and Scotty Weaver; and his siblings, Donald Eugene Carpenter, Andy Carpenter, Jeff Carpenter, Amelia Brinkley (Tootie) and Marge Pate. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Usher Funeral Home (2313 W Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46222). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
