With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Gregory A. Bernhard of Indianapolis, Indiana, born in Beech Grove, Indiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Gregory left this world on October 18, 2024 at the age of 74, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. Though Gregory may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gregory touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Bernhard and Erma Bernhard (Daugherty). He is survived by: his wife Kathy Applegate; his daughters, Heather Maloney and Melissa Gee; and his sisters, Janet Cox and Lisa Bernhard. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and countless close friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Taeko Loundenback-WinsteadMemorial Gathering Memorial (2950 N High School Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46224). A memorial service was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Indianapolis Zoological Society.
