He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick Sargent and Rowena Gay (Sargent); his wife Elizabeth Sargent; his grandmother Bertha Strader; and his brother Larry Radford.
He is survived by: his son Deon Lamont Sargent (Linda Vancleave); his granddaughters, Dyonna Sargent, Deniece Sargent and Destiny Sargent; his sister Cordelia Jones-Hill (Dee Dee); and his close friend Darlene Knight. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the New Garfield Baptist Church (2940 E Minnesota St, Indianapolis, IN 46203). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 1:45 PM at the Crown Hill Cemetery (700 E 38th St, Indianapolis, IN 46208).
