He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Jefferson and Wilma Jean Patton Hill; his children, Kimberly and Gary Jr.; his siblings, Larry Thornton and Robin Tillman; and his aunts, Daisy Toliver and Violet Gupton.
He is survived by: his children, Ricky Patton, Carmen Ockletree Davis (Michael), Angela Patton, Michelle Patton, Shantelle Perry (Rodney) and Michael Patton (Amanda); his grandchildren, Christopher, Dominique, Mekia, Shanice, Rodney Jr., Kayla, Mya, Wyatt and Emmett; and his siblings, Justin Jefferson and Jovonna Warr. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
