He was predeceased by: his wife Patty A. Gibbons; and his daughter Nannette Griffith. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Matthew Swearingen, Sr. (Tara), Eric Swearingen, Jr., Nicholas Swearingen, James Griffith, Jr. and Annie Griffith; and his great grandchildren, Matthew Swearingen, Jr., Mason Swearingen, Clayton Swearingen, Tessa Unterbrink and Kayli Unterbrink.
