It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dennis H. Freeman (Indianapolis, Indiana), who passed away on January 15, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ora Freeman and Leonard Freeman; and his brother Leonard Freeman. He is survived by: his sister Cheryl Grinston-Ford; his nieces, Lenora Reid, Micky Pollard and Jody Cole; his nephew James Bishop; his cousins, Herman Lawson Slaughter III, Bryona Slaughter and Eric Slaughter; and also Witherspoon. He is also survived by other cousins, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Witherspoon Presbyterian Church (3535 W Kessler Blvd N Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46222). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, Reverend Freeman risked his own health and wellbeing by traveling to Witherspoon each week to play for a special broadcast called, "Sweet Hour of Prayer.".
