He was predeceased by: his father Chester Flake; and his brother Roger Flake. He is survived by: his wife Lee Ann Flake; his children, Mindy Flake-Moore of Harlan Flake, Carl Flake, Jr., Ruby Hess, Aftan Blankenship and Jesse Hess; his mother Alice Conner; his siblings, Jimmy Flake, Keisah Felts, Dawn Shaffer and Misty Stevens; and his grandchildren, Caiden Moore, Trinity Moore, Bryson Moore, Aydan Gomez, Michael Connell, Dusty Blankenship, Alina Hess, Braxton Hess, Cortney Farrell and Dustin Farrell.
