He was predeceased by: his parents, John Altman and Mary Altman (Hasley); his former wife Grace Bowsher; and his siblings, John D., Herb Altman and Lenora Gallinger.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Hunt; his children, Leo "Pete" Altman of Idaville, Michael "Mike" Altman of Monticello, Edward Joe Altman (Carla) of Idaville, Sue Arthur (Frank) of Monticello, Judy Peters (Pat) of Idaville and Deb Arthur (Irvin) of Monticello; his stepchildren, Keith Jackson of North Carolina, Tammy Jeffries (Vince) of Monticello and Gregory Jackson of Monticello; and his siblings, Laurine Pritts (Tom) of Burnettsville, Loretta Snavely of Monticello, Ted Altman of Burnettsville and Bernie Altman (Dinie) of Burnettsville. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
