He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom E. McDowell and Glenda Sue McDowell (Johnson); and his grandparents, Delphia, Willie Johnson, Helen and Harry McDowell.
He is survived by: his sons, Jason McDowell of New Castle, IN, Steven McDowell (Lara) of North Manchester, IN and William McDowell (Tracy) of Evansville, IN; his stepsons, Michael Hartweck (Kassi) and Christopher Hartweck (Mallory); and his sister Patricia Morse of Huntington, IN. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the McElhaney Funeral Home (715 N Jefferson St, Huntington, IN 46750). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 1:15 PM at the Clear Creek Cemetery (3213 W 750 N #3971, Huntington, IN 46750).
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to McElhaney Funeral Home to help the family with expenses.
