Erma J. Thornton Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Erma J. Thornton of Huntington, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 16, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Myers and Ina Myers (Call); her brothers, Barney Myers (Karen), Jay Myers and Rick Myers; her brother-in-law Alan Slagel; and also, Loraine Thornton, Bobbie Smallwood, Floy Conatser (Jay), Ida Waggonner (Leon), Boyd Thornton, Woodrow Thornton (Ruthie), Ray Thornton, Joyce Horn (Boots), Delbert and Effie Thornton (Golden).
She is survived by: her husband JB Thornton of Huntington; her children, Beth Buzzard (Randy) of Huntington and Jon Thornton (Marie) of Angola; her grandchildren, Brad Buzzard (Janelle) of Wabash, Wade Buzzard (Bethany) of Huntington, Stu Thornton of Muncie and Wilson Thornton (Selena) of Ashley; her great grandchildren, Brookelynn, Jaxton Buzzard, Miles Buzzard, Bexlee, Houston and Jonathon Bennett Thornton (JB); her sisters-in-law, Darlene Myers of Huntington and Bonnie Slagel of Huntington; and her pet Andy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel (2901 Guilford St, Huntington, IN 46750). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be directed to Heartland Hospice or to the Huntington County Humane Society both sent in care to Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana 46750.
