He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roy Eugene, Jr. and Julia Katherine Carpenter; his brothers-in-law, Ernie Noe and David Newlin; his nephew Joseph Sommerville; his wife Marcia Carpenter of Jasper; his children, Valerie Stice (Larry) of Springfield, Virginia and Chip Carpenter (Paula) of Santa Claus; his grandchildren, Matthew, Amanda, Amelia, Jeremy Stice, Harrison and Emma Carpenter; and his siblings, Bonnie Noe, Barbara Newlin and Jim Carpenter (Elizabeth).
