He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard, Sr. Gehlhausen and Linda Gehlhausen (Jones); and his brothers-in-law, Larry Beadles and Dale Kessinger. He is survived by: his wife Yvette Wagner of Huntingburg; his children, Leonard Gehlhausen III (Michelle) of Washington and Danielle Thacker (Tim) of Huntingburg; his sisters, Christy Beadles of Huntingburg and Jody Kessinger of Evanston; and his grandchildren, Izayah, Jozlynn, Isaiah, Damion, Aria, Jimmy, Addilynn, Toby, Lilly, Leonard IV and Orion.
