James Abel Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Abel of Huntertown, Indiana, who passed away on April 22, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Abel and Alice Abel (Bishop); his sister JoAnn; and his brother-in-law Bill Foutch. He is survived by: his wife Rita Abel; his children, Julie Yant (Rex), Paul Abel (Karen) and Robert Abel (Milinda); his brothers, Steve Abel (Charlene) and David Abel (Barbara); and his grandchildren, Allison, Cassidy, Seth, Molly, Audrey, Cooper and Camille.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Huntertown Chapel (16830 Lima Rd, Huntertown, IN 46748). A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the Huntertown Cemetery.
