He is survived by: his spouse Nancy Denney (Frost); his children, Nathan Packer (Amy) of Nashville, Chris Denney (Carlotta) of Fort Myers, Chad Denney (Beth) of Elizabethtown, Kelly Basalo (Diego) of Warsaw and Kelli Shelton of Elizabethtown; and his brother Doug Packer (Julie) of Sierra Vista.

Throughout his career he led a number of support groups for various ages and circumstances, including a grief group for children, Alzheimer's and stroke support groups and many others.
