He was predeceased by: his brother Howard Elliott; and his parents, Ralph Elliott and Eleanor Elliott (Keyes). He is survived by: his wife Susan Barnes; his children, Shannon Long (Greg) of Sturgis, Leah Elliott of Sturgis, Joel Elliott of Atlanta, Phillip Elliott of Howe and Marcus Elliott of Angola, Indiana; his grandchildren, Elisabeth, Ethan, Erin, Allison, Olivia, Ivy and Morgan; and his siblings, Thomas Elliott (Karen) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Suzanne DiCara (Joseph) of New Jersey and Robin Sears (Carl) of Orland, Indiana. He is also survived by two nieces and five nephews.
