He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur D. Bowers and Laura D. Bowers (Bunger); his stepson Gene Bowers; and his siblings, Marie Hunter, Debbie Bowers, Delores Roberts, Nora Graff, Eugene Bowers, Arthur Bowers and Cliff Bowers.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanette K. Beuchel; his stepdaughters, Kathy Caudill (Amos) of Kendallville, IN and Michelle Smallwood (Don Russell) of Howe, IN; and his siblings, Linda Platt of Columbia City, IN, Sharon Mowery of Columbia City, IN and John Bowers (Cindy) of Orland, IN..
