She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Hess and Agnes Hess (Hettinger); her son Daniel Funkhouser; and her siblings, Richard Hess and Patricia Marshand.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Jr. (Michelle), Paul (Connie), Peter Funkhouser (Gina) and Julie Guerra (Dale); and her sister Janet Chupp (Donald). She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 31st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Billings Funeral Home (812 Baldwin St, Elkhart, IN 46514). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens (10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola, IN 46561).
Memorial donations made in Barbara's honor can be directed to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
