He is survived by: his wife Betsy Mullins Downey; his sons, Patrick Downey Annapolis (Libby) and John Downey of Lowell, Indiana; his granddaughters, Eleanor and Alice of Annapolis, Maryland; and his siblings, Phyllis Weaver (Rodger) of Vevay, Wayne Downey (Theresa) of Hope, Sharon Waltz (Ron) of Hope, Dale Downey (Anne) of Boonville, David Downey (Deborah) of Prattville and Joyce Meiners (Mike) of Oregon, Illinois..
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Hope (455 Jackson St, Hope, IN 47246). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
