He was predeceased by: his parents, William P. Wainman and Mary C. Wainman; his wife Eleanor D. Wainman; and his siblings, Patricia Christoff, Theresa Yugo, Dorothy Willis and William J. Wainman.

He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Ann Wainman of Portage and Thomas R. Wainman (Kara); his siblings, Mike Wainman (Caroline), John Wainman (Kathy), Robert Wainman (late Irma), Paul Wainman (Chris) and Mary Helen Wainman of Merrillville; and his grandchildren, Donovan Wainman and Ayden Collom. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
